Guidance
Welcome to the Interboro High School Counseling Department!

On this site, you will be able to find helpful resources, as well as a calendar of events illustrating happenings in our department throughout the year.

Please do not hesitate to contact your child's counselor if you have any questions.

We look forward to working with your student!

Counseling Department Philosophy:

The counselors in Interboro School District believe:
·         All students, grades K-12, have the right to access the state-certified, Master’s level, full-
          time school counselor as needed.
·         Each student is a unique contributing member of our community capable of achieving
          self-sufficiency and success.

A comprehensive counseling program should:
·         Provide developmental, preventative and remedial services for all students.
·         Be tailored for the needs of the Interboro community with available resources.
·         Utilize data and standards to guide services.
·         Advocate for the personal/social development, academic development, and career/life
          planning success.

Counselors will:
·         Abide by the American School Counselor Association professional code of ethics.
·         Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
·         Collaborate with pupil services staff, school psychologists, school social workers, faculty,
staff, administrators and other agencies to best meet student needs.

Mission Statement:
The mission of the ISD school counseling program is to enhance the academic, career and personal/social needs of all students. The IHS counseling staff will encourage the development of moral, ethical, contributing members of society. In cooperative partnership with administrators, teachers, parents, community resources, social workers and other support staff, we aim to prepare and assist students in their pursuit of personal post-secondary goals.
